• I work with a 50% upfront payment and 50% upon completion.

• The payment will be made in Euro or DKK.

• I accept payment through Paypal Goods & Services: Commission Price + 5,5% transaction fee

• For commercial use, an additional fee of 100% will be applied to the final price.

• If a cancellation occurs before any work has begun and in good time, a full refund can be issued.

• If a cancellation occurs after work has started, the 50% deposit is non-refundable.

• The final design will be delivered only after full payment has been received.

Book Cover Art Process

Contract & Project Start
Work begins once a contract is signed by both the client and the artist.

Timeline
Turnaround varies based on the cover’s complexity and the number of versions requested. Extra or extensive revisions may extend the schedule. I typically aim to deliver the completed cover within 3–4 months.

Preview & Revision Process
You’ll receive up to two revisions during each stage of the artwork. Once we move forward from a stage, we cannot return to it.

• Stage 1 — Sketch: Initial layout and composition.

• Stage 2 — Base Colors: Overall color placement and mood.

• Stage 3 — Rendering: Detailed refinement and near-final artwork.

After the final design is delivered, any additional changes will require a paid revision fee. To avoid extra costs, please ensure your title and blurb are finalized before the rendering stage.

If your title or blurb isn’t finalized, I can use placeholder text or leave the cover blank. A text‑free version of the final cover can also be provided after full payment upon request.

Art Creation
Most designs are hand‑drawn. In some cases, I may incorporate high-quality stock elements, which I always modify to ensure a unique final result. You will always be notified beforehand if any stock imagery will be used.

Mockup Edit Process

Client Brief
You provide your book cover file for the mockup itself, along with your aesthetic preferences to guide the style and mood of the photoshoot.

Creative Direction
I prepare a style plan based on your vision. Minor adjustments can be requested before moving forward or if you want to give me full creative freedom.

Photoshoot Setup
I create a styled scene that fits your vision and photograph it.

Image Selection
You receive three unedited previews, where you select your preferred option to move forward with.

Final Edit
I integrate the mockup I made into the chosen photograph and complete the full polished edit.

Delivery
You receive a high-resolution JPG/PNG of the edited photo and the mockup used.

Turnaround Time
Turnaround varies depending on the complexity of the setup and amount of edits ordered, but I generally deliver final edits within 2–4 weeks.

Note on Turnaround Times
All artwork and photo edits are completed alongside my full‑time job. Because of this, longer turnaround times may occasionally apply, especially during busier periods. I always strive to keep clients updated and deliver high‑quality results as efficiently as possible.

A fee of 100% of the price will be added if my designs are to be used for commercial use, which gives you an exclusive license for commercial use.

Lunafay Studio retains the right to use the client’s final book cover design, name, and book title in its portfolio, as well as for marketing and promotional purposes.

If stock art is used:

All third-party licensed images are permitted for use in materials of up to 500,000 copies in digital or print, including product packaging, with a total print limit of less than 500,000 copies.

Note that I will only use stock art if the client so wishes or if the style they have ordered warrants it but all this will be agreed upon and clearly stated in a contract.

While the client is not required to provide credit, it would be greatly appreciated if the following acknowledgment is included in the eBook and/or printed version.

The client acknowledges that they may not alter the final designs in any way, except for resizing it for printing or digital display. Any modifications beyond this require prior approval from Lunafay Studio and may be subject to additional fees.

The client is permitted to use the cover for any promotional or marketing materials but must not modify the design itself.

I do not use any AI art or tools to create my book covers.

I also do not use any AI in my photography or editing.

However, I am aware that some stock image creators may enhance their work using AI. If I come across any stock images that have to my knowledge been altered in this way, I will not use them.

I take every precaution to avoid AI-generated content and ensure the highest quality.
